Frequently asked questions

What is it all about?

What is interspecies communication?

An exchange of impressions — pictures, sensations, feelings, sometimes words — rather than spoken language.

It is the connection with the energy body you choose to communicate with.

Language is just an expression, not an impediment. Many message are pure visuals, others are specific emotions or sounds that the animal makes the communicator experience briefly.

Mona describes what she receives and often, how she received it. She is not translating speech, and she will tell you where something was clear and where it was faint.

Does my animal need to be alive?

No. A great deal of this work is asked for after an animal has died, and it is some of the most valuable.

Communication is done with the animal's energy body- so the animal being in their physical form is immaterial.

Communicating with an animal that has passed away or died unexpectedly is no different than communicating with an animal that is alive.

Communication with animals in spirit often covers the animal's reflection on their time with their human, message for their human, how to process their grief and how to honour the life of their beloved companion.

What do you need from me?

A clear, recent photograph where you can see the face of the animal, their name and age, and what you would like to understand.

If there are several animals in the house, a separate photo of each avoids confusion.

All this and more details are shared during the booking process.

Which animals can Mona work with?

Any species — companion animals, horses, farm animals, wildlife. Size and familiarity make no difference.

You mention spaces and landscapes. What does that mean?

The same attention turned to a house, a plot of land or a place that feels unsettled or stuck.

People usually ask when somewhere feels wrong and they cannot say why.

People also ask when a place just feels like home and calls them again and again.

Often people check in with spaces they are weighing as potential homes or offices.

Is this the same as behaviour training?

No, and communication is not a substitute for it. A behaviourist works from observable behaviour and is trained to change it.

The two sit together well. Mona may suggest you see one.

Communication reveals what the animal wants to share about their behaviour, habbits or patterns they have formed.

Communication does not work with the intention of 'changing' the animal, it works with the intention of 'understanding' the animal. The animal may well share how to improve things but this is not guaranteed.

How is energy healing different from communication?

Communication is about understanding and conveying messages. Healing is about settling something — tension, unease, the aftermath of a fright or a loss, adjusting to change.

Both engage the animal's energy body.

Communication is a conversation, it can last a little more than an hour. Healing spans days.

Communication conveys the animal's will. Healing energy is used by the animal in their greatest good- it may be to alleviate emotional or physical pain, release anxiety, improve the condition of the physical body.

Communication and healing are asked for separately, and you do not need one to have the other.

The practical side

How do I ask for a session?

Fill in the form on this site, or message Mona on WhatsApp.

The form suits a full request; WhatsApp suits a quick question.

Either way you are talking to Mona, not to an assistant or a booking system.

You will receive an acknowledgement and next steps in under 24 hours.

How long will it take to hear back?

Once you have sent your query, you will receive the next steps in under 24 hours.

After you finish the steps detailed, you will receive the communication at the scheduled time.

You can rest assured that you will receive your animal's messages at the time specified and you don't need to do anything else.

What does it cost?

Prices vary given the nature and scope of work. For instance, healing is done over days whereas communication is a matter of hours. Prices also depend on the country and currency. You receive the price upfront when you reach out with your query.

Why do I have to verify my email address?

So that Mona can definitely reach you, and nobody can send a message pretending to be you. It also keeps out almost all spam.

It takes about twenty seconds and nothing is stored beyond your enquiry.

What should I ask?

Open questions travel better than yes-or-no ones. "How does he feel about the new house?" gives more than "Does he like it?"

Write down what you actually want to know, including the thing that feels too small to mention. Those are often the useful ones.

Sit with this feeling that you want to communicate with your animal and some questions will organically arise.

When you convey your situation, Mona can also help you curate relevant questions.

What is not worth asking?

Communication serves best when it is in the spirit of improving the animal's well being, improving your lives together or for you to get guidance.

Asking the animal anything about the future is not worthwhile - animals cannot predict the future.

Medical diagnosis is best not sought from the communication- neither the animal nor the communicator is trained in medical sciences, so vets are the only ones equipped.

Communication can convey the areas of discomfort, pain, sensations and more but only a vet can diagnose the animal.

Should I tell my animal about it?

Sure, why not? :)

Your animal will know your intent to communicate with them as you go about looking for a communicator, interacting with one and finalizing the date, time, questions, etc.

So share it directly with them too. There is no harm in saying it out loud, in your own words, a day or two beforehand.

What gets delivered to you

What do I need to do during the communication?

Nothing! At the scheduled time, Mona connects with your animal and has a conversation.

You do not need to be available, present, free, or with your animal or doing anything.

You can go about your day as you normally do. Mona will revert with the communication at the decided time.

How does the answer reach me?

At the scheduled time, you will receive a note from Mona along with instructions on how to process the communication.

Is it a live call?

It depends on you.

Communication happens by connecting with the animal's energy body so physically, the animal could be doing anything, even sleeping and yet communication will work fine.

Live calls can be scheduled at a mutually convenient time. These may sometimes be tricky if the animal is not really in the mood to be in a specific space for a stretch of time.

Discovery calls and mentoring are live.

Does my animal need to be there? What does my animal need to do?

Same as you - nothing!

Your animal could be sleeping, eating, chasing squirrels, swatting flies, and it is all good!

At the scheduled time, Mona connects with the animal to have a conversation. Once done, she sends across the communication to you.

Almost all of this work happens at a distance, from a photograph and what you tell Mona.

That also means your animal is not handled, transported or asked to perform anything.

Can I ask follow-up questions?

Yes. Your communication includes clarification for questions you asked and information you received.

If a specific message does not make sense, ask for clarification.

If the issue is covered in the communication, Mona will ask you to give it a good listen. Given how much animals pack in each conversation, it is best to review the communication three to four times.

If something remains unclear, go ahead and ask for clarification.

If there is a new set of questions or desire to focus on an issue that has emerged in the communication, dig deeper, understand its full implications, consider booking a new session.

What if something doesn't make sense?

Say so. The Code of Ethics she works to requires her to correct her own errors. That is not a formality.

Ask questions, seek clarifications if something is unclear.

Mona will go back, check with the energy being, animal or space and return with their response.

Will Mona tell me something upsetting?

Communication often reveals aspects of ourselves and our lives that we may not be ready to acknowledge or embrace. Communication may also reveal ways to embrace those tricky bits.

So while animals and spaces share their guidance, they may also share some tough love.

You will hear everything your animal wants you to know and their reasons for sharing it.

Is any of this confidential?

Yes. All of this is confidential.

No identifiable information of clients or animals or their communication is revealed, published, shared or used.

The ethics of practicing communication require that confidentiality is maintained.

Some more common questions

My animal has died. Is it too late?

Communication is done with the animal's energy body- so the animal being in their physical form is immaterial.

Communicating with an animal that has passed away or died unexpectedly is no different than communicating with an animal that is alive.

Communication with animals in spirit often covers the animal's reflection on their time with their human, message for their human, how to process their grief and how to honour the life of their beloved companion.

My animal is missing. Can Mona find them?

Animal communication is meant to convey the animal's will to you and your messages to the animal. It is not meant to find animals. Promises to locate a missing animal may be misused to exploit desperate people.

Communication may help where the animal wishes to return, has specific conditions for returning or would like their human's help to return. If the animal does not wish to return, the animal may share that too. Mona's communication will cover all these aspects.

Along with the communication, Mona may offer impressions: the energy of the animal, whether the animal seems frightened or settled, near or far, indoors or out. That is sometimes a comfort and possibly a direction.

Meanwhile, please keep searching by ordinary means. Use posters, spread the word among neighbours, local groups, shelters, vets nearby and if your animal is microchipped, check the register.

My animal's behaviour changed suddenly.

Communication can reveal what your animal is going through. A lot of subtle or small changes go unnoticed by humans while deeply impacting animals.

If the change seems connected to a health issue, do consult a vet. Pain is the commonest cause and the easiest to miss. So watch your animal closely.

To know more, understand your animal's need better, understand what changed for them, ask your animal specific questions.

We're moving house, or there's a new baby.

These are big changes for an animal- territory, resources, sense of safety, familiarity, attention from their human all are impacted.

Animals generally cope better with something explained than with something that simply happens.

Communicate to prepare them and to understand what they need during such transitions.

We're deciding about end of life.

Mona will not tell you when to let an animal go. That decision is yours and your vet's.

What she can do is sit with you in it, and tell you what she senses from your animal and convey what the animal wishes to convey to you.

Animals often share how they wish to be cared for and what they want from their human as their time together , in the physical realm, comes to an end.

There's tension between two of our animals.

One of the most frequent requests. Animals have a specific understanding of their territory, resources, attention of their humans and when required to share, tensions may arise. Each animal is usually asked separately, because they rarely describe the same situation the same way.

Can I learn to do this myself?

Yes, communication skills are innate in all of us and Mona is happy to teach you. The Code of Ethics asks her to build ability in others rather than dependence on her own.

The mentoring sessions and communication workshops are options to explore. If you are a beginner, look up the section "Communication Curious"; having learned communication, you want to become a confident practitioner look up "Deepen your Practice" section.

No awkward questions

How do I know it isn't cold reading?

You can't prove it isn't, and that is the honest answer. Scepticism is reasonable here and Mona does not take it personally.

What you can do is assess what arrives unprompted, whether the specifics fit, and judge what you were told was useful for your situation.

In some cases, animal share a timeline for events and that serves as a tool as well. Another useful indicator is descriptions: animal's description of spaces, people and their environment, events in your life can all help you decide.

What certainly doesn't help is sharing inaccurate information to test- it just leads to a confusing conversation between two beings, both of whom really just want to talk!

Are animal communicators qualified or regulated?

There is no register, no licence, no examination and no complaints board. That is precisely why Mona publishes the code she works to as well as testimonials from her clients.

What if Mona gets it wrong?

She will say so. The code she works to requires recognising and clearing up her own errors of understanding, and she takes that seriously.

Her own worry or hope can colour what she believes she has heard. Staying clear of that is continuous work, not a certificate she was awarded once.

Can Mona guarantee a result I want?

Communication is intended to elevate the animal's well being and to convey their will.

Seeking communication with a specific outcome in mind will not allow space for the animal's will to come through. It may also not allow you to see the situation from the animal's vantage point.

It is best to ask questions, seek the animal's opinion, understand their perspective and also convey your perspective, challenges you face or change you hope to see.

Once you have heard the animal's side, you will be much better equipped to take action. Animals may also share how to take that action.

What will Mona not do?

Communication's aim is to elevate the animal's well being and the relationship with their human. Communication can not be used to diagnose or treat the animal's illness.

Communication cannot be used to predict the future- animals do not possess such powers.

Animals also cannot tell you what to do or take decisions on your behalf. They will provide you guidance based on which you can determine the next steps or future course of action.

Mona also does not communicate with an animal whose person has not asked her to or has been informed about such a communication — not from a photograph on the internet, and not because somebody else thought it would help.

Is my data safe?
